About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Gaffer / Grip to support video and photo productions across commercial, branded, and community-focused projects.
This is a hands-on, on-set role ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge of lighting, rigging, and grip equipment, who can work efficiently in fast-paced production environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.
You will work closely with the Director of Photography, producers, and camera team to execute lighting and rigging setups that support the creative vision and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Photography
Capture high-quality still images for commercial, social media, and community-based campaigns.
Ensure optimal framing, composition, and exposure that align with the creative brief.
Adapt quickly to different photography styles, ranging from portraits and lifestyle to event coverage and product shoots.
2. Videography
Operate video cameras to capture dynamic main footage, B-roll, and interviews.
Work closely with the Director to execute camera movements, angles, and framing that support the project’s narrative.
Monitor audio levels (if required) and maintain visual consistency throughout the shoot.
3. Camera Assistant
Assist with the building, balancing, and breaking down of camera packages (both still and motion systems).
Manage on-set media safely, ensuring timely offloading and secure storage of digital assets.
Handle lens changes, battery management, and keep all delicate camera equipment clean and organized.
Pull focus or manage the slate/clapperboard when supporting another DOP or camera operator.
4. Grip / Gaffer (Lighting & Rigging)
Set up, adjust, and operate lighting fixtures to achieve the desired mood and exposure.
Handle grip equipment securely, including light stands, C-stands, flags, nets, diffusers, and rigging systems.
Ensure lighting continuity across scenes and collaborate with the camera team to shape light and control shadows.
5. Equipment Handling, Safety & Wrap
Safely load, unload, and transport camera, lighting, and grip gear.
Identify and mitigate on-set hazards related to tripods, heavy lighting fixtures, cables, and rigging.
Assist with basic prep and equipment checks prior to shoot days.
Support the strike and wrap-down of all production setups, promptly reporting any equipment issues or damages.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
1–3 years of experience as a:
Gaffer
Grip
Lighting Assistant
Working knowledge of:
Professional lighting equipment
Grip and rigging tools
Understanding of basic cinematography and lighting principles
Physically fit and able to handle equipment safely
Ability to follow technical instructions accurately
Preferred Attributes
Prior experience on:
